Enter the heart of the volcanic region of El Pinacate y Gran Desierto de Altar Biosphere Reserve, the fourth largest land reserve in Mexico. Considered one of the 13 wonders of Mexico, El Pinacate harbors great geological, biological, cultural and landscape value.

Difficulty Level is Intermediate, Event to last approximately 6-7 hours.

• Meet at the CEDO Field Station for registry
• Drive to the El Pinacate y Gran Desierto de Altar Biosphere Reserve
• Introductory talk about the Reserve: geologic, biologic, landscape and cultural value
• Trekking at El Elegante crater and lectureNature photography and contemplation
• Trekking through Tuff cone Cerro Colorado and lectureLandscape appretiation
• Lunch break·
• Return to the CEDO Field Station
