About Dot Gov:

Dot Gov is a rock band that believes in bringing fun, high-energy, and eclectic live music and dynamic recordings straight to your ears and bodies. The band’s music draws from each member’s love of rock’n’roll, danceable pop jams, and improvisation of all kinds. Every show is an opportunity to sing, dance, and make new friends, celebrating sound with souls.

The band formed in 2016 when Dave D’Arville, Gabe Miller, Scott Edmunds, Jack Synoski, and Andrew Malonis met at Temple University. Currently based in Philadelphia, Dot Gov performs regularly at Philly venues like Bourbon & Branch, Milkboy, and World Café Live. They tour regionally around the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic and are planning a second tour to the Midwest for Summer 2020.

Dot Gov enjoyed an exciting year in 2019, releasing their debut EP (Ugliest Patch in the Quilt), performing over thirty shows, and getting some radio play. The band released their self-produced EP in June 2019, coinciding with a ten-date tour. Dot Gov recorded the majority of the EP to a tape machine with their good friend Matt in a historic ballroom. Jack Synoski, their bassist, engineered and mixed the rest of it at Red Paw Records. Described as a “solid preview of Dot Gov’s versatility as musicians [and] sense of humor” by NEPAudio Blog, Ugliest Patch in the Quilt is a sampling of the wide range of styles, moods, and textures the band is capable of creating. The EP’s second track, “Ghost in the Closet,” aired on Princeton’s 103.3 WPRB this past summer, marking the band’s FM radio debut.

Dot Gov is grateful to be sharing their music with more and more people. In 2020, the band looks forward to more collaboration with artists they love, more live shows that invite audiences into their sonic universe of fun, and a full-length studio album.
