Event Details

Join us for an Independence Day like we've never experienced before! Bringing a whole new meaning to independence, July 4th 2021 will be a major milestone for Vermonters and Americans alike eager to return to normal day-to-day life. WOKO, Baker Distributing, Miller Light, and Coors Light are teaming up with Jamie Lee Thurston and The Double E to throw a party to celebrate!

Jamie Lee Thurston
"In Jamie Lee’s words, “I’m more comfortable on stage than off.” It’s the kind of presence that comes from years of honing his craft in countless bars and honky-tonks, and at hundreds of concerts and festivals. During his shows, you’ll quickly discover a powerful and unique singer, an electrifying guitar player, and a guy that can flat-out entertain. When you’re doing something you love, there’s no faking it. In fact, there’s one word that keeps coming up time and again from people who have met him or attended his shows: AUTHENTIC.
Thurston’s talent took him to Nashville, where he eventually signed a record deal with Warner Bros., landed an EMI music publishing contract, and had his songs recorded by Montgomery Gentry, Chris Cagle, Trace Adkins, and Rodney Atkins—songs that include Rodney’s top #16 fan favorite, “15 Minutes.” He has shared stages with some of country music’s greatesttalents: Jason Aldean, the Dixie Chicks, Travis Tritt, Brad Paisley, Billy Currington, John Anderson, and Charlie Daniels, to name just a few.
After singing from the age of 3 and more than 30 years on the road, Thurston has seen more than most and lived to sing about it. He released his 9th album “The Window” in 2018, and, scored a top 40 hit with “Givin’ Up Breathin’.” He’ll keep fighting the good fight to play that solid, honky-tonk country laced with southern rock ’n’ roll for the people who most want to hear it. And, by the looks of things, that’s a whole lot of people. If you’ve never seen a show, then you need to do yourself a favor and get to one. And, when you get there, you’d better strap yourself in because, one thing for sure...Here come da PARTY!!"

THE ESSEX EXPERIENCE

Located on the campus that used to be known as The Essex Outlets and Cinema, The Essex Experience is an effort to reclaim retail spaces and turn them into cultural centers. You can spend a whole day here with Black Flannel Brewery, Black Flannel Distillery, Magic Man Cannabis CafeSukho ThaiUncommon CoffeeArthound GalleryThe Mad TacoThe Double E Performance CenterEssex Cinemas, and so much more

The Essex Experience has been hard at work during the pandemic to prepare our spaces for the return of community gatherings. A new stage will be gracing our green by the beginning of the summer, and we're excited to throw some parties.
  • This event is placed entirely on The Green but may spill over into the parking occasionally, The Green has become an even more special place to us in the last year, as it has allowed The Double E to continue to host live music, entertainment, and community events while in observance of social distancing guidelines
  • We've expanded the green even further! We have plenty of lawn to have your own personal space. Feel free to bring picnic blankets or low-backed chairs. no Umbrellas or pop-up tents allowed.
  • No outdoor beverages are allowed. Outdoor food is allowed only if it is purchased at one of our on-campus partner restaurants. Please leave backpacks, coolers, or large purses in your car. The venue retains the right to check any bags that enter the venue.
  • This is a no-smoking venue. Yes, even if you have a medical card. =]
The Double E Performance Center takes Coronavirus seriously. We recognize that the success Vermont has experienced is because of the respect Vermonters have shown for each other. Trust Us - we wish things were normal too! Until that time comes, we're eager to continue to support live music, while keeping people healthy. Please follow our guidelines while at the venue or you will be asked to leave.
