Following the opening of our restaurant,The Bear (on the site of the Little Bear) at Bearsville, a dinner for our Theater Guests is offered from The Bear  between 5 and 7.30pm, in the Riverside Dining room.  This is a beautiful space, full of history, photographs, plants, and gorgeous furniture.  Josh, our Jazz Dinner Chef, has moved to The Bear.  Come and enjoy monthly Jazz concerts at Bearsville Theater and enjoy delectable meals at The Bear. 

We will then commence the music in the Theater Lounge at 7.30pm. It is always enjoyable to hear musicians play in the Theater Lounge, with its unique acoustics and 30+ year history.  We try very hard to bring exceptional musicians to town.

Transcend Gentlemen

Transcend Gentlemen is a duo of Joel Bluestein on electric guitar and Timothy Hill on piano.  Together they mine the lyrical and transporting vein of modern jazz with an emphasis on sound and space. Much of their repertoire centers on the classic period of mid-sixties Blue Note to mid-seventies ECM recordings, while dipping into standards from the Great American Songbook and occasional forays into rock and folk classics. While grounded in organic grooves, they seek the moments when the music opens onto unexpected  territory and shifts the listeners’ perspective, and their own.
