Jeff Howell (Outlaws/Foghat)
Bruce Marshall (Toy Caldwell Band)
Barry Goudreau (Boston)
A Once an Outlaw show celebrates the southern rock genre and each of the member's careers with a special emphasis on the Allman Brothers and Outlaws. When Chris Hicks appears expect a healthy dose of Marshall Tucker. The audience can also expect original music from Chris Anderson's solo work as well as Rattlebone. You'll get the hits you know and love and some deep cuts for the die-hard fan. A few classic blues chestnuts round out the show.
Anderson's soulful voice gives the hard-hitting blues and Outlaws tunes credibility while Kach's voice is almost identical to a mid-1970's Gregg Allman. The guitar combo of Anderson and Farrell is flawless and when Hicks joins the line up is on par with the original Florida Guitar Army..
Don't confuse Once an Outlaw with another tribute show, this is an alumni show celebrating the southern rock genre.

THE ESSEX EXPERIENCE
Located on the campus that used to be known as The Essex Outlets and Cinema, The Essex Experience is an effort to reclaim retail spaces and turn them into cultural centers. You can spend a whole day here with Black Flannel Brewery, Black Flannel Distillery, Magic Man Cannabis Cafe, Sukho Thai, Uncommon Coffee, Arthound Gallery, The Mad Taco, The Double E Performance Center, Essex Cinemas, and so much more.
The Essex Experience has been hard at work during the pandemic to prepare our spaces for the return of community gatherings. A new stage will be gracing our green by the beginning of the summer, and we're excited to throw some parties.
- This event is placed entirely on The Green but may spill over into the parking occasionally, The Green has become an even more special place to us in the last year, as it has allowed The Double E to continue to host live music, entertainment, and community events while in observance of social distancing guidelines
- We've expanded the green even further! We have plenty of lawn to have your own personal space. Feel free to bring picnic blankets or low-backed chairs. no Umbrellas or pop-up tents allowed.
- No outdoor beverages are allowed. Outdoor food is allowed only if it is purchased at one of our on-campus partner restaurants. Please leave backpacks, coolers, or large purses in your car. The venue retains the right to check any bags that enter the venue.
- This is a no-smoking venue. Yes, even if you have a medical card. =]
