The San Francisco Tribal & Textile Art Show enters its 34th year in 2019. We are proud that it is the premiere show of its kind in the United States. We welcome over 60 dealers and feature exciting exhibits presented by top galleries each year.
The finest textiles and rugs mingle with exquisite wood carvings, pottery, and jewelry from all corners of the globe representing the breadth of the world's great cultures. Beginning in 2017, the show began a series ofFeatured Countries, beginning with Indonesia, followed by Australia. This year we are happy to announce our featured country is Fiji, which will be showcased in a special exhibition: Fiji-Art andLife in the Pacific, offering a preview of LACMA's upcoming fall show, and featuring works from the Mark and Carolyn Blackburn collection.
A second special exhibition is African Twilight: The Vanishing Rituals and Ceremonies of the African Continent with photographers Carol Beckwith and Angela Fisher. Highlights from the recent Bower Museum show,these photographs are a celebration of Africa's artistry, boundless creativity,and cultural diversity. Beckwith and Fisher will give three talks, followed bya book signing. Talks are Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, at noon each day, and is free to fairgoers.
