Steve Kimock is regarded as one of the great guitar improvisers of his generation inspiring music fans with his signature sound voiced through electric, acoustic, lap and pedal steel guitars for over four decades. His ability to articulate crystal - clear tone, melody and emotion into intricately woven music crafted with technical brilliance is matchless, and his unparalleled ability to embrace and capture his audiences musically is the stuff of legend.
A pioneer of the ‘jam band’ scene and the West Coast sound, no one niche has ever confined him. Instead, through the years, he’s explored various sounds and styles based on what’s moved him at the time, whether it’s blues or jazz; funk or folk; psychedelic or boogie; gypsy or prog - rock; traditional American or world fusion. With a reputation as a blazing psychedelic guitarist versatile enough to touch almost all aspects of American music, Kimock continues to evolve creatively and elevate audiences worldwide.
After more than 40 years on stage, Kimock is more committed than ever to the spirit of musical diversity and diving deep into his Rock roots. Many classic tunes and tones of his youth that forged his sound and his attitude as a musician will be unearthed with the same spirit that has fed his desire to pursue an authentic relationship with the guitar since the day he realized his calling. Dubbed “The Guitar Monk” by Relix magazine, Kimock is driven by the knowledge that there is alwaysmore to discover – that and the fact that he loves guitar too much to do anything else. Like all of us, he’s sick of this pandemic and wants to come back to the stage with guns blazing. If you’re a fan of Steve Kimock, you won’t want to miss this side of the artist with his foot on the gas
COVID GUIDELINE UPDATE
Because of the rise of the Delta variant, The Double E will begin requiring proof of vaccination via an immunization record card (or a high-quality image of it) and a matching photo ID starting September 1st, 2021. The safety of you, the artists, and our team is our number one priority. We've been sure to disinfect the T Rex between each use and provide hand sanitizer in and around our facility, and we've also installed the highest-quality air filters in the six HVAC units that ventilate the interior of The Double E. The state of Vermont has done a phenomenal job at getting vaccinated, so we hope this new policy won't prevent too many people from joining us. If it does preclude you from enjoying our indoor entertainment, we encourage you to get a shot and join us for a show! Our outdoor shows will remain unaffected by this new rule.
The Double E: T Rex Theater
The Double E Performance Center is home to The T Rex Theater - a 400 seat multipurpose events space that hosts blockbuster movies, the best-sounding concerts, engaging speaking events, live-streamed programs, and private rentals as well! This is a general admission seated show in the T Rex Theater - seats are first-come, first-served. Our theater is outfitted with plush reclining chairs featuring cupholders that make for the most comfortable concert-going experience in Vermont.
Unless otherwise listed, our shows are all ages. All guests need a ticket to seated shows. Much like an airline, we will welcome well-behaved babies who can stay seated on their parent's laps. We ask that parents remove loud or distracting children and cooperate if our concert staff ask you to do so.
Drinks are allowed in the theater; cupholders are available with each chair
Dancing is more than welcome! We will never ask you to sit down, but please be aware of your impact on your neighbors. Folks are welcome to dance in aisleways so long as they follow the directions of our concert staff. Folks may be asked to vacate aisleways at times and dance in their seat. Seat aisles are larger than most theaters!
Concerts often feature visualizers, flashing lights, and fast movement
Tickets are nonrefundable unless the show is completely canceled
