Salt Water Taffy

Salt Water Taffy is the decidedly indie culmination of a few unlikely friendships and a lifetime's worth of obstacles. A lifelong music-obsessive social outcast, songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Jay Vesper had originally met fellow members Lowden Harrell (Drums), Manny Mora (Lead Guitar), and Matthew Distante (Bass) whilst performing acoustically at various open-mics throughout Southern California. The four would go on to form enduring working relationships from 2018-2020 as they each participated in a plethora of ensembles, solo projects, and session gigs. All of this changed, of course, as the pandemic struck. Salt Water Taffy’s final lineup formed over the following year wherein Distante, Mora, and Harrell were brought on to recreate Vesper’s eclectic arrangements. The group has spent the past year performing throughout the Southern California area and  has released the singles “Injured Dove” and “Somebody Next Door” from their catalogue with accompanying music videos. Salt Water Taffy plans to release its debut LP “Highschool Art Project” in August of 2022.
