YEA-MING & THE RUMOURS (OAK)

"Yea-Ming seems perennially overshadowed and unsung outside of her home base of Oakland and the overall greater Bay Area. Her songs are instantly captivating, memorable and endure over the long haul of time. Her skillful compositions are steeped in classic pop Brill Building structures and echoey atmospherics that would also be right at home in a Bakersfield honky-tonk with their distinctive steel guitar embellishments. The Rumours’ twangy guitars and amps are aligned to project a perfect timeless tone while her lovely lantern light vocals guide the way under Western skies. In their own distinctive and competent way, they have shaped and sustained an endearingly sincere and jangly folk-pop-country sound. Overall, their enchanting songs turn corners with attention paid to arrangements complete with unexpected bridges which effortlessly connect the songs to new realms. " - Turning The Tide

RIP FLORENCE (SANTA CRUZ)

Hello, My birth name is Bryant, but I create music and art as Rip Florence. I primarily enjoy making outsider, freak folk, soft grunge, no wave music. It sorta sounds like a mix of Syd Barrett, Jonathan Richman, & Beat Happening. My songs are usually about social processes, material excess, and manipulation in the digital era. What do you like to do with your free time? :)

VIOLENT CHANGE (SF)

VIOLENT CHANGE is a San Francisco Bay Area act formed in 2012 as the recording project of MATT BLEYLE. The band has had a rotating cast of musicians. The current line up featuring, STANLEY MARTINEZ (Children Maybe Later, Famous Mammals) finds them straddling the boundaries, again, of all things questionably recorded. Their sound has been described as anything from GBV and a Killed By Death compilation or The Idle Race meets Vertical Slit.

NOW (OAK)

Threads of Technicolor drama, Factory cool, and bedsit ambition squeezed onto a cassette tape in shimmering and immediate song.

Lofi that reverently spans the gap between 60’s Love (Arthur Lee), 70’s private-pressed and would-be glam (Lucky Pierre, Brett Smiley), and perhaps most transparent: The Sound of Young Scotland (Postcard 7-inches)

Their debut LP And Blue Space Is Burning Noon experiments in the band’s own digestive style, bringing to mind the eccentric and regenerative quality of songwriters like Martin Newell, Chris Stamey, Mick Jones, and Bill Nelson.
