The Bleeding Hearts: (Raleigh, NC)

Celebrating their 20th anniversary in 2023, Raleigh’s preeminent power punk band is now older,  but also much different. The Bleeding Hearts started out in 2003 as a raucous crew of youngupstarts, making a mark with their own brand of rock’n’roll glam punk. Over the years, theyhave released three critically acclaimed albums and toured extensively on the East coast. Theband, led by singer/guitarist Sam Madison has gone through several lineup changes, with 2022finding them with three new members, Larry Burlison (lead guitar), Paul Walz (bass) and ChapelHill’s Doug Edmunds on drums. The new lineup has sparked continued interest in the band andinspiration within the group, heading into the studio for their fourth album in early 2024.

Although the lineup may have changed, The Bleeding Hearts sound is still intact. More than anyone style of music, they are an era of music, the late 70’s/early 80’s. They incorporate the
guitar-pop of Cheap Trick, The Knack, and The Cars; the hard rock of KISS and AC/DC with the
punk sounds of The Ramones and The Dead Boys.

The songs are upbeat and guitar-oriented,
often with sarcastic lyrics. Live, they are raw, aggressive, and power-packed, with the flash and swagger of 70’s arena rock delivered with a punk rock edge.

With a new album being released in late 2024, the boys are showing no signs of slowing down.
They may not play as often as they used to, but their passion and intensity is still glowing.

The Blusterfields: (NC)

Four lads of deep pedigree playing rock and roll music with a pop pulse. Driving, upbeat rock for swilling libations, driving, stage diving, and more. Clever but not too much.

Karbuncle: (NC)

2-piece stripped-down rock & roll drawing inspiration from rock, punk, garage, country and the music of New Orleans and North Carolina. Karbuncle makes quite a racket for just two folks.
